GDPR – Important Information about your Personal Data

At Connacht Rugby we are committed to protecting the personal data we hold about you and with the introduction of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we are taking the opportunity to update our Data Protection Notice and provide you with further information about your personal data rights and how we use your information.

What is the GDPR?

The GDPR is an update to existing data protection law and comes into effect across the EU on 25 May 2018. The GDPR will give you more control over your personal data and places greater accountability on Connacht Rugby and all organisations when collecting, using and keeping safe your personal data.

 

Our Role

Connacht Rugby is the controller of your personal data which means that we are responsible for how your personal data are collected, used and protected. We respect your personal data and take great care to ensure security and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

 

What is Personal Data?

Personal data is information which identifies you or which can be used with other information to identify you. Connacht Rugby collects personal data in a variety of circumstances such as where you volunteer at a grassroots level, purchase products from us or attend a match. Examples of personal data include your name, contact details, member registration details and details you provide to us when purchasing Connacht Rugby products or tickets.

 

How we use Your Information

We use your personal data to facilitate your engagement with Connacht Rugby and to help us run the administration of Rugby Union in Connacht. For further information, please see our updated Data Protection Notice.

 

Marketing

If you are a member of our mailing list, we may send you information about Connacht Rugby including our newsletter, matches and events and other communications we feel may be of interest to you.

We would like to carry on sending you this information and we will continue to give you an opportunity to manage your preferences about receiving marketing communications each time we contact you.
