Connacht’s European Challenge Cup dreams were shattered in France tonight as Bernard Jackman’s Grenoble edged out a one-point victory in front of a vocal crowd at Stade des Alpes.

Outhalf Jonathan Wisniewski kicked a 75th minute penalty to put the French side in the lead for just the second time in the game and they held on to that lead to close out the game.

Pat Lam’s men scored four tries to Grenoble’s three with Niyi Adeolokun (2), Robbie Henshaw and Matt Healy all crossing. Shane O’Leary and John Cooney kicked nine and three points respectively.
