IRFU Medical Department Coordinator

The IRFU are currently accepting applications for the position of Medical Department Coordinator, this position is based at the IRFU head office on Lansdowne Road. The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development and delivery of medical and related strategies to ensure the effective, efficient and successful implementation of IRFU medical policy as defined and communicated by the IRFU Medical Director and Medical Committee.

It is essential that the successful candidate has the following:
•    A recognized health professional qualification in area of sports physiotherapy, sports science or related health area;
•    High-level computer skills including the ability to generate and deliver reports;
•    Excellent organizational, communication and team working skills.
It is highly desirable that the successful candidate has:
•    2-3 years experience within a rugby related area.

The successful applicant will be required to fulfill the following main duties:
    Devise, implement and monitor injury prevention strategies for rugby.
    Liaise closely with the provincial and national medical teams to ensure they are regularly updated on IRFU medical policy/procedures.
    Ensure all IRFU teams have appropriate medical equipment and supplies.
    Assist with coordination of medical examinations / tests.
    Maintain medical records of contracted players and ensure information is kept up to date.
    Ensure that the injury tracking system is maintained and kept up to date by the medical team.
    In association with the IRFU Anti-doping Officer, assist with the introduction of the online WADA anti-doping programme (ADAMS).
