Club & Community Rugby Officer – West Mayo

Connacht Rugby is one of four professional rugby teams in Ireland playing in both the Guinness PRO12 and the European Challenge Cup. We are currently inviting applications for the position of ‘Club & Community Rugby Officer’ to develop sustainable rugby structures in agreed National & Secondary Schools in the West Mayo catchment area.

The Role
Primary responsibilities will be to:

• Work with the local clubs in line with agreed kpi’s.
• Visit designated schools and deliver appropriate coaching to particular age groups.
• Organise blitz days for the primary and secondary schools throughout the season.
• Introduce and develop rugby in non-traditional schools within the area.
• Develop 3rd level rugby in the area.

Key qualities of the Candidate

Essential

• A knowledge of local rugby landscape
• An understanding of Connacht Rugby development structures
• Excellent communication skills
• Possess organisational and excellent leadership skills
• Stage 1/Stage 2/Stage 3 accredited coach

Desirable

• Competence in IT systems (Microsoft office, email).
• A full, driving license and access to a car.
• Stage 3 accredited.
• IRFU tutor course accreditation.

Hours of Work:

The successful candidate will work for 32 hours per week. Working hours will not be fixed to a set timetable and will be carried out as needed in agreement with Connacht Rugby.
