Monivea RFC Under 11’s travelled to Wales at the weekend to take part in the North Wales Rugby Festival 2013.They played 4 pool games on Saturday against Shotton Steel(Wal) winning 12 tries to nil,New Brighton (Eng) winning 2 tries to 1,Northwich(Eng) winning 3 tries to 1 & lost the 4th game to favourites Llangefni(Wal) 6-1.They came second in the pool and qualified for the semi-finals on Sunday where they came up against New Brighton.

This was the game of the tournament which was nil all at full time and had to go to 5 min of extra time with Monivea’s Evan Connolly diving over with 2 min remaining but this brave bunch of guys hung on to book their place in the final against hot favourites Llangefni who again were too strong coming away with the win on a score line of 5 tries to 2.The team and their coach Ronan Collins did Monivea RFC & Connacht proud and are a team to follow for the future.
