Bateman Cup Semi-Final and BOI Weekend Preview

The first time Sligo has been in the Bateman Cup playoffs since 2020 where they lost narrowly to Cork Constitution RFC, tomorrow's match on their home ground will be their biggest challenge of the 2023/24 season yet and should draw big crowds to Hamilton Park.

 

Sligo players Philip Carter and Kuba Wojtkowicz will be the only players to have played in all 3 previous Bateman Cup games that Sligo have been in, and Conan O’ Donnell from Sligo RFC will be lining out for Terenure RFC. 

 

This will be Scotsman Archie MacLean’s first game as Vice-Captain which is recognition of his growing stature in the Club, and Martino Quirogo, an International Polish teammate of Kuba Wojtkowicz, will make his Sligo Debut in this game. The starting line-up also sees current Connacht President Michael O'Hehir's son, James starting at number 7 for Sligo. Ambrose Bamber played last week for Connacht Eagles against the Munster Academy team in the Sportsground.

 

The match is €10 entry at the gate.
