Colm Tucker: Preview to Dragons test

This week Colm Tucker signed a new three-year contract extension at Connacht Rugby where he will be part of Pete Wilkins coaching setup.

Speaking to media the Connacht scrum & contact coach discussed what his role will be from next season.

"The plan is very much the same as what we have now regards my role"

"It will be good to get continuity as I almost have a year under my belt as the scrum & contact coach"

"It will be nice to keep building around the scrum and the contact area and its something I want to stay involved in"

"Pete is assembling his ticket and I am looking forward to building on what we've done the last eight months or so"

"I'm delighted to sign the contract but its all eyes on this Saturday for the URC again"

Connacht will travel to Newport this Saturday where they take on the Dragons at Rodney Parade. The last three rounds have seen Connacht climb up the table and into the playoff spots after three consecutive wins. Tucker knows its important to keep that winning form going.

"We've picked up 15 points the last three games and suddenly we're in the playoff places"

"There's quality across the URC and we know the challenges we have left this season"

"I know its a cliche to say but we are taken this game by game and not looking any further than the Dragons this Saturday"

"There are 20 points to try and get in these final four games and we have to go after all of them"

Colm gave his thoughts on the challenge of the Dragons that face Connacht this week.

"They're the top lineout in the URC, they're second for turnovers at ruck, they have full of international sin their back-row and then you have more quality in the backs like Williams and Dyer"

"This is their last home game of the season so we're expecting a massive challenge but this is one we're looking forward to"

The Connacht team for this weekend's game will be named on Friday.
