Connacht box clever with Team Hope
Ahead of their Guinness PRO12 interpro clash with Munster on Saturday, members of the Connacht Rugby senior squad joined their head coach Pat Lam in volunteering for the Galway branch of Irish charity TEAM HOPE who are best known for their annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal.

Nathan White, Denis Buckley and Jack Carty were just some of the players there to help load the thousands of boxes on to containers and trucks and send them on their way to children in more than 13 countries across Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and Africa.

Commenting at the community event in Ballybrit, Connacht hooker Jason Harris-Wright said:

“A group of us went down to help out Team Hope with the loading of about 840 cartons of boxes that were starting their journey to Africa on Wednesday night. There was so much work done by Team Hope and their volunteers in the last few months for this initiative but it was nice to be able to contribute in a small way to what is a great cause. “

TEAM HOPE is an Irish, interdenominational Christian development aid charity, working with children, and through them, into their families and communities in Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union and Africa.

Best known for our Annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal, they also help children all year round (many in families surviving on less than €1 a day) through a variety of community development projects.
