Connacht v Ulster: Match FAQs
What’s happening?

Our URC fixture with Ulster Rugby on Saturday 23rd October will now take place at the Aviva Stadium, with kick-off at 5.15pm.

Why the change of venue?

It’s not every day that a team is offered the opportunity to play at the home of Irish Rugby, and so when the opportunity was offered to us by the IRFU to use the Aviva Stadium, it was one we couldn’t pass up. It also allows us to thank our fans for their continued and committed support, and allows us to do that in far greater numbers than we can currently hold safely at The Sportsground.

The game is also taking place just one day after most remaining COVID-19 restrictions are due to be lifted. As such, this game will be a ‘Celebration’ as we come together to mark the next steps in our journey, both on-the-field and in society.

We should also acknowledge the thousands of people living in Dublin and the east coast generally, who are originally from the West of Ireland, who will now have the opportunity to reconnect with their Connacht roots closer to home.

We engaged with the Connacht Clan who were very supportive of the idea and we thank them for that.

Finally, this will be the first time Connacht Rugby will play at a redeveloped Lansdowne Road in front of supporters. This will be a one-off opportunity to see the squad play at the home of Irish Rugby and we’re very confident our supporters will come out in force for it.

I’m a Season Ticket holder. What happens now?

Your Season Ticket will be valid, and as a thank you from us to you, we are giving you a complimentary upgrade to some of the best seats in the house with Premium Level access.

Tomorrow (Thursday 23rd) morning you will be emailed a link where you can choose where you'd like to sit in the ground, and also purchase additional tickets if you'd like to bring your friends and family with you.

I don’t have a Season Ticket yet, but I’m a member of the 1885 Club. What’s available to me?

On Friday morning you will be emailed priority access to purchase tickets, before they go on General Sale on Monday.

Again, to acknowledge your support, you'll receive an exclusive discount on Premium Level tickets, which will be priced the same as a standard Category 1 ticket in the Lower Level.

Will tickets go on general sale?

Yes, from Monday at 9am! Tickets will be available for Category 1 and 2 of the Lower Level, as well as the Premium Level.
