Connemara RFC are ready to take on Bective Rangers in the Energia All Ireland Junior Cup Quarter Final today, 16th November at 5:00 PM in Donnybrook.
The All-Blacks have a tough ask in facing last year's AIL Junior Cup finalists Bective Rangers at their home ground of Donnybrook, but they're absolutely ready for the challenge. The side have shown their skills, work-ethic, and passion with their standout performances in the Bank of Ireland Connacht Competitions the last few years.
President Kieran Staunton says ahead of this evenings match, "Connemara RFC and it's many supporters want everyone to get behind our Management and our team for Saturday's clash with Bective Rangers in Dublin. A big game for us, but we are up to the task ahead. Come on the Connemara All Blacks!"
This isn't Connemara's first appearance in the All Ireland Junior Cup Playoff rounds, having faced Kilfeacle in the 2021 Quarter Final. They won on that occcasion and moved on to the Semi-Finals against a strong Ballyclare side. Unfortunately, Ballyclare edged them out in that Semi-Final, so the All Blacks' journey ended there that year.
This year, Connemara are determined to take that next step in the competition. Their decisive 44-0 first round Junior Cup win against the City of Derry showed they are ready for this next challenge.
"We are looking forward to the challenge that this stage of the competition brings. Testing ourselves against the top junior side currently in Leinster, Bective, and at a brilliant venue. The boys are excited to get stuck in, so hopefully we can go and show why we deserve to be here and keep going deeper into the competition," says David McDonagh, Co-Captain with Ian Staunton.
All in the province are behind the All Blacks and are wishing them the best of luck in their contest at 5:00 PM this evening.
