Connacht Rugby would like to extend its sincere condolences to the family and friends of former player Dick Roche, who has sadly passed away at the age of 86.
From Woodford in Galway, Roche was one of the first Connacht-born players to represent Ireland in the 1950s and the first to do so while playing with a Connacht club. He attended Garbally College in Ballinasloe and represented both UCG and Galwegians RFC.
Just a few months ago, Dickie and his family attended the Guinness PRO12 Connacht v Edinburgh game at the Sportsground where he presented his Irish cap to the club.
May He Rest in Peace.
