Excellence Camp Update

Next week’s Connacht Rugby Excellence Camp that was due to take place in Castlebar has been cancelled as we have not received enough bookings.

The remaining four Excellence Camps in Westport, Ballina, NUIG RFC and Loughrea will go ahead as planned (see full details below).

The camps give young players aged between 13 and 16 the opportunity to learn and improve from high class coaching in a professional environment.

Players attending can learn to play the Connacht way as they will gain greater understanding of the game and learn about values such as team work, commitment, integrity and communication.

This year we are also delighted to provide Performance Nutrition Workshops at each of the camps. This will include top tips on what to eat before and after both training sessions and matches to optimise energy levels and ensure speedy muscle recovery.

Emphasis will be placed on skill development, game understanding, positional expertise, conditioning and enjoyment. In particular, players will develop core rugby skills and learn to perform them under challenging conditions thanks to Connacht Rugby’s fully qualified professional coaches.

Camps cater for players who are aged from 13 to 16 years of age and the cost of the camp is €95.
