Capped for an Ireland XV team that came up against the Barbarians in late May before going on to play against Italy, Uruguay and Georgia in the Tbsili Cup, 25-year-old Marshall had plenty of rugby played before he rocked up in Galway. A successful pre-season saw him earn his first cap in a Connacht jersey against Top 14 side Grenoble, the former Leinster lock touching down for a second half try on his Sportsground debut.
A week later and against Castres, he started in the second row alongside Danny Qualter and followed it up with another dominant display in the 28 – 12 win over Munster at Thomond Park last week.
