Yesterday Connacht got a bonus point win over Benetton at The Sportsground with tries from Niall Murray, Paul Boyle, Finlay Bealham, Caolin Blade and Dylan Tierney-Martin.
Speaking after the game was player of the match Paul Boyle who was asked about his thoughts on how the game went.
“Its always a real battle on the lungs when you play Benetton”
“You feel it at full time with the effort that went in”
“For me personally it was good to get a try today and finish on a high note”
Four of the five tries came from the Connacht forward pack who once again laid down a statement performance.
“I think we have been improving every game, maybe we took a bit of a step back last weekend against Munster”
“We did a lot of training this week on scrum and mauls knowing where we needed to be better”
“We are happy with how we’re playing but we are all striving to get better, we need to get better as this is only the half way point”
Next week Connacht begin their European campaign as they welcome Newcastle Falcons to Galway for the Challenge Cup. The back-rower said preparation going into next week won’t be any different to a BKT United Rugby Championship game.
“Yeah its a big one next week which we’ll be looking to win as we do every other game but our prep will be the same for that just like this week”
“Newcastle will provide a different challenge but its one we’re looking forward to”
