Pete Wilkins | Dragons preview

Connacht are at home in Dexcom Stadium for the second weekend in a row in the BKT United Rugby Championship as they welcome Dragons, kick off 7.35pm.

Head coach Pete Wilkins spoke to the media during the week ahead of the game and was asked if he would need to freshen things up heading into round 6.

"There would certainly be a temptation to with it be six weeks on the trot for a lot of the lads"

"You also have a lot of players who are looking for games or more games"

"I think one of our strengths in this block has been the consistency we've developed in the 23"

"As a coach you lookout for freshness in the legs and mind of every player"

Both teams come into this game looking to bounce back after defeat last weekend, Connacht lost to Leinster while Dragons were beaten by Benetton.

"For us as a team we are looking at this game where if we win we take that feel good factor into the November break"

"If we don't deliver you get the reverse of that so I think this is a very important round for all teams"

Recent meetings between the two teams have seen very little in the outcome of the result.

"There has been nothing between the two sides in recent meetings"

"Looking at Dragons last week against Benetton I thought they were on top in that first 30 minute period"

"They caused Benetton a lot of problems but it was probably that last quarter where Benetton got on top"

"For me they are a much improved side this season and I think Benetton had to work really hard to get that win over Dragons"

"The Dragons will probably carry frustration from that game into this week"

"It's red alert for us but I know our lads are up for it"
