The game proved to be a huge success and was an even contest throughout with both sides running in 4 trys each in a high tempo game. Most notable on the day was the willingness of both sides to express themselves and attack from every angle and at every opportunity. This contest also had all the competitiveness that we come to expect when neighbouring provinces go head to head and both sets of players represented their regions brilliantly on the day.
A healthy crowd of supporters made up of friends and family cheered on both sides and the teams responded offering up some fantastic rugby, digging deep into their energy levels again and again as ball remained in play for long periods.
At the end of the game, Connacht Under 19 player Saul O Carroll was on hand to pass on some words of wisdom for the players around skill development as well as his own recent experiences that saw him pull on both the green jersey of Connacht and Ireland.
Conor Galvin, Connacht Rugby " We are very proud of the lads on how they played, they have worked hard around the cornerstones of their games and we asked them to express themselves at every opportunity. It is a real positive to have so many of our clubs and schools represented in the group and the work their club, school and regional coaches are doing with the lads really showed today, hopefully we can make this game a regular occurence as its a great challenge for the lads and one they really relished".
A big thank you goes to Tullamore RFC for hosting on the day and Damien McCabe and his colleagues from Leinster Rugby for organising a fantastic fixture.
