Connacht head to Newport this Saturday as they take on the Dragons in Round 15 of the BKT United Rugby Championship, kick off at Rodney Parade is 8pm and will be live to watch on RTE Two.
The men in green are travelling on the back of a bonus point win over Zebre in Galway last weekend and will hope to keep that momentum going this weekend as they push for those playoff spots.
Defence Coach Scott Fardy spoke to media ahead of the game.
"Heading to Rodney Parade is always a difficult challenge for any team"
"You look at the other teams, Sharks, Bulls and Leinster earlier in the year have all found it a tough place to go"
Connacht scored eight tries the last day out against Zebre but Fardy knows they will need to be improve their performance if they want to win this weekend.
"We go again"
"We review eveything from that win over Zebre like we would any game"
"It was a good performance but there are plenty of things we need to get better at"
"We have to make sure we conitnue to perform and that doesn't matter if it is our best performance of the season or worst"
This stage of the season every game has huge meaning for each team and Fardy knows better than most. Having been part of a successful Leinster team back in his playing days, Connacht can call on his experience about how he approached this part of the year.
"Everything matters"
"The start of the week matters"
"What you do at training as well as off the training pitch matters"
"Make sure you review well"
"Know the team you are facing inside and outside, which Irish players do very well to be honest"
"Start the week well and then as the week goes on you can focus more on your own stuff where you can go out and deliver come the weekend"
