Stage 3/4 coaches invited to Connacht Positional Specific Skills session
Connacht Rugby would like to invite coaches to an upcoming Positional Specific Skills session which will be held at The Sportsground on Monday November 19th 2018.
This session will be held as part of the Talent Identified Player (TIP) programme. This involves a select group of players that are attending 2nd level education with an opportunity to accelerate their physical & technical development while training in an elite environment.
Coaches who attend will avail of a great chance to see some of the best coaches in the province work with upcoming talent. Coaches can freely move between any of the areas of the pitch and observe the Connacht coaches in their work with players in the TIP programme.
Please note this session is specifically aimed at Stage 3 and Stage 4 coaches.
“As part of our TIP program we run 5 Positional Specific Skills sessions in the season. On these nights, the players also undertake nutrition and Personal Development workshops before taking to the pitch for a one session. The session content is centered around skill development for the position each player plays e.g. Hooker - throwing/ striking, Scrum half - passing/ box kicking etc. it has proved to be very successful over the past 3 years”
Colm Tucker, Connacht Rugby Elite Player Development Coach.
The session will be run by Colm Tucker while Eric Elwood, Mossy Lawler, Ambrose Conboy, Stephen Kerins and Andrew Browne will also be on hand on the night.
