The Connacht U18 Girl's squad, sponsored by ATU, has been announced for this summer's training and Interpro series.
On July 1st, the Connacht U18 Girl's squad travelled to Belfast for the very first inter-provincial, residential training camp with Ulster.
Both squads and management teams were based in Belfast's Campbell College at their high quality facilities. While the weekend consisted of joint pitch sessions, video analysis, position specific sessions and a very entertaining game against each other, the squads also had time to enjoy team activities.
Neill Alcorn,WNTS Talent Coach said, “the weekend was a massive success not only on the pitch but off it as well and some of the rugby on show during Sunday’s game was brilliant to watch". Connacht U18 Girl's Head Coach Craig Hansberry found the experience to very beneficial to the players going in to the Interprovincial Series, “we have a very young squad this season and the camp gave them the opportunity to bond as a team which will stand to their overall player development”.
The Connacht U18 Girls Interprovincial Series kicks off next month with their first fixture away to Munster. Exact interpro dates and times will be announced by the IRFU in due course.
