Connacht U18 Women head coach Craig Hansberry has named his matchday 23 for tomorrow’s PwC Women’s Interprovincial Championship home clash against Munster in Corinthians RFC (k/o 1.00pm).
The U18 Women’s side, sponsored by ATU, is captained by centre Siofra Hession of Creggs RFC.
The game is the second of the U18 PwC Interpro Series after a definitive win over Ulster last weekend. The team will be making the trip East for their last Interpro clash against Leinster on the 31st August.
Commenting ahead of the team announcement, Craig Hansberry says:
"We’re looking to build on a great performance last week in Belfast. We probably weren’t as clinical as we would have liked in attack and we probably left a few scores out there so we had a few things to work on this week ahead of Munster.
It’s going to be a big day for these girls wearing the green jerseys in front of a home crowd in Corinthians which has shown in the excitement around the group this week. It’s going to be a tough game against a physical Munster team so the girls will need as much help from the home crowd as possible."
Team Manager Natalie Fox added:
“We have just had Connacht's U18 Womens' best season to date, winning both Interpros. However, we know the quality Munster will bring to Corinthians tomorrow. We have a very young team this year which is fantastic to see as it shows the incredible work being done in clubs across the province. The girls got a taste of the standard required to play at this level last week in Newforge against a good Ulster side, but could also recognise where we need to improve and have worked well on that this week.
The pride and desire to represent their province is evident within the group. They push each other at every session and they have given huge commitment over the summer so it's exciting to see it all come together now. We would hope the support we have been afforded every season will continue at what is our only home game as the Connacht supporters always make the game that bit more special."
