Connacht U18 Women head coach Craig Hansberry has named his matchday 23 for tomorrow’s PwC Women’s Interprovincial Championship opener against Ulster in Newforge Sports Complex (k/o 3.30pm).
The U18 Women’s side, sponsored by ATU, is captained by centre Siofra Hession of Creggs RFC.
The game is the first of the U18 PwC Interpro Series with the side hosting Munster in Galway on the 24th August before making the trip East for their last Interpro clash against Leinster on the 31st August.
Commenting ahead of the team announcement, Craig Hansberry says:
"I just want the girls to express themselves and really work on their skill level by trying to move the ball as much as we can and [by] playing probably the way the Connacht teams in the past at U18 level over the last couple of years have been playing. Hopefully we can replicate that and go and win again.”
Captain Siofra Hession added:
“We’re a very young team. Craig’s done a really good job to get us through the sessions. It’s all new for most girls so it’s been tricky. We have really high standards set for ourselves. We really want to win by as much as we can with a big crowd with us. but we’re all buzzing for this campaign and can’t wait for the Interpros to start so bring on Ulster at the weekend!”
