Galwegians face a daunting task on Sunday afternoon in the Women’s All Ireland League semi-finals as they travel to Limerick to face table-toppers UL Bohemians on their 4G pitch (1pm).
The hosts will be looking to reach yet another Women’s All-Ireland League final while there’s a Dublin derby in the other semi as Railway Union face Old Belvedere.
Galwegians were beaten twice by UL Bohs earlier in the season with the Limerick club emerging with a 15-10 win when the sides first met at Crowley Park in the beginning of October.
Unfortunately for Galwegians, the return was far more one-sided as the Annacotty side showed no mercy at home, romping to a 14-try, 50-0 victory against Sunday’s semi-final opponents.
Galwegians finished fourth in the table after seven wins and seven defeats from their 14 All Ireland League games while UL Bohs won 13 of 14 to finish well clear of the chasing pack.
Railway Union are the only side who have stopped the Limerick side thus this season so it will take a monumental effort from Galwegians to shock the Munster club.
