O'Reilly retires from international rugby
Ireland's Ruth O'Reilly and Paula Fitzpatrick celebrate after the win against Japan last week.

Ireland and Connacht prop Ruth O'Reilly has been ruled out of the remainder of the Women's Rugby World Cup through injury and has announced her retirement from international rugby.

Following medical reviews over the weekend after Thursday night's game with France, the Ireland management have confirmed that O'Reilly picked up a back injury and has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.

Ulster's Ilse Van Staden has been called into the squad and has joined the group in Belfast. Van Staden made her Ireland debut against Scotland during this year's Six Nations and has won four caps.
