This week Connacht’s Gavin Duffy and Michael Swift visited the Try Rugby Summer Camp in Ballina. The Summer Camps are sponsored by Centra and are run by the Connacht Branch to provide an introduction to rugby for children from 6 to 12 years old. The Camps are coached by fully accredited IRFU qualified coaches and introduce skills such as passing, kicking, tackling and teamwork in a fun and safe environment. Each week members of the Connacht Squad pay a visit to the camps to help the coaches and pass on some of their knowledge and this week Gavin returned to his native Ballina along with Connacht stalwart Michael Swift to get involved in the camp.
Gavin has just returned from International duty where he played for Ireland against the New Zealand Maori and Michael is Connacht’s most capped player with over 100 caps for the Province and both were a big hit with the kids.
