Introduction

Connacht Rugby is working with clubs to bring to their attention a significant commercial opportunity with a blue chip company called Shared Access. Connacht Rugby have partnered with Shared Access because we feel that mutually beneficial agreements can be reached that would assist clubs in the development of their infrastructure.

Shared Access

Shared Access is a private, well capitalised Irish company which manages communications infrastructure for wireless operators at major Irish developments such as Dundrum Shopping Centre, Dublin Port Tunnel and sports stadia such as Thomond Park, Musgrave Park amongst others.   Shared Access has been the exclusive agent for the Government Office of Public Works which has responsibility for locations including Garda stations across the country.  It is also rolling out lighting schemes for FAI, GAA, Tennis Ireland, Munster Rugby, Leinster Rugby and Connacht Rugby.

Q: What can clubs get out of participating in the scheme?

A: Once a club completes the Enquiry Form and subsequent Letter of Appointment issued to them, the club location is then actively marketed to the Telecommunications Operators. If a Mobile Network Operator decides the club grounds are a good location for their telecommunications equipment, Shared Access begin the development process in conjunction with the Operator and the club.

Should Shared Access secure interest from Operators, clubs can expect

An annual rental income which increases with each Telecommunications Operator locating on site.

                Plus

A full set of Floodlights.

A once off capital contribution (if lights are not needed).

The scheme is open to all clubs, with or without lights, and Shared Access can design a solution for every club, once a Telecommunications Operator wants to locate there.
