Sligo Minis3501Sligo Juveniles travelled to Enniskillen last Saturday morning for our first friendly fixture of the season, over 80 kids competed in all age groups. Our U7/8s played fantastic in each games and enjoyed the day trip.  The Sligo’s U’8’s although they finished up 1 try short of Enniskillen in the end they produced a remarkable performance.  It really was significant considering that qualification ages up north meant that the Sligo teams were approx. 6 months younger that their opposition.  They was some great tackling, passing and running for those so young and only learning the sport.     The U9s were magnificent and won many of their games.    As usual our U10s proved too strong for their opponents wining all but one game.    Sligo RFC U10 were up against a strong Enniskillen team however the Sligo’s die hard attitude was to be commended. Sligo true to form worked hard and the two wins out of two for Sligo was an excellent and deserving result.   Sligo Minis3502The U11s gave great commitment and worked very hard but found Enniskillen too difficult to overcome. Our two U12 teams were hungry for victory and showed they are one of the strongest teams in the province.    The U12 squad played extremely well against a well-trained Enniskillen team, who were also 6 months older than our team. For their first match of the season, with only one training session behind them, the U12 team did themselves proud. They also took a lot of learnings from the matches played, which will hopefully be put into play against Ballina this weekend! The team showed great commitment and drive, despite playing against a strong side.

A big thank you to Enniskillen RFC for their welcome and hospitality.
