The Aviva hosts the IRFU Sports Medicine Conference on Friday, May 18.

Geared toward injury prevention, the innovative new conference targets those involved every weekend on pitch sidelines, and the Sports and Exercise Medicine community.

The conference features presentations from leading international and national experts in Sports and Exercise Medicine. There will likely be 150 delegates including physicians, physiotherapists, nutritionists and strength & conditioning coaches from international and national organisations, universities, private clinics, clubs and schools.

Several specific satellite courses (17-19 May) will be also run providing practical workshops to delegates. All subject matter links in with the main conference.

Aside from the IRFU’s own Cameron Steele, Dr Brian Moore, Dr Conor McCarthy, and Dr Eanna Falvey, professionals and academics from Australia, the UK and America will offer research and advice also.

Recently-retired Irish rugby powerhouse Shane Horgan will share a player’s perspective.
