Four pools in the Junior Development Cup, only the winner goes through, plenty to play for in each pool.

Pool A Played Won  Drawn Lost Bonus Points Points
1 Presentation College Headford 2 1 0 1 2 6
2 Roscommon Community College 1 1 0 0 0 4
3 St. Paul’s Galway 0 0 0 0 0 0
4 Holy Rosary College Mountbellew 1 0 0 1 0 0

Fixtures to Play:

TBC: St. Paul’s v Roscommon

TBC: St. Paul’s v HRC Mountbellew

Wednesday 29/01: Pres Headford v St. Paul’s

Friday 31/01: Roscommon v HRC Mountbellew

With both of St. Paul’s games having been postponed due to weather so far, they and St. Paul’s hold their own destiny. Pres Headford’s loss to Roscommon leaves them vulnerable, but teams need to win if they are to overtake them.

Too many things can happen yet to be sure.

Pool B Played Won  Drawn Lost Bonus Points Points
1 Davitt College 1 1 0 0 1 5
2 St. Tiernan’s Crossmolina 0 0 0 0 0 0
3 Athlone Community College 1 0 0 1 0 0
4 Colaiste Mhuire, Ballymote 0 0 0 0 0 0

Fixtures to Play:

Colaiste Mhuire have replaced St. Raphael’s in Pool B. This means that only one game has been played so far and there are too many ways this can be played out. Davitt College have put themselves in a strong position with a bonus point win over Athlone and will be in with a chance until the end at least.

Pool C Played Won  Drawn Lost Bonus Points Points
1 Calasanctius Oranmore 1 1 0 0 1 5
2 Gallen Community School 1 1 0 0 1 5
3 Colaiste Iascaigh 0 0 0 1 0 0
4 St. Mary’s Ballygar 2 0 0 2 0 0

Fixtures to Play:

Any pool with one time yet to play will always be hard to predict. St. Mary’s are out, with Oranmore still to play Gallen, one schools should be out of reach by then for the Ballygar school. Indeed, that Oranmore and Gallen game will probably be the key to deciding who wins this pool, with only Colaiste Iascaigh standing in the way of the winners.

Pool D Played Won  Drawn Lost Bonus Points Points
1 Gortnor Abbey 3 3 0 0 0 12
2 St. Enda’s  4 3 0 1 0 12
3 St. Attracta’s 3 2 0 1 1 9
4 Presentation College Athenry 4 0 0 4 0 0
5 Athenry Vocational School 4 0 0 4 0 0

Fixtures to Play:

Monday 27/01: Gortnor Abbey v St. Attracta’s

St. Enda’ are already played all their games and due to an inferior try scoring record are out. The winner of Gortnor Abbey and St. Attracta’s will get the only spot available in the semi final. A losing bonus point might be enough for Gortnor Abbey to go through though, if they have a better tries for record than St. Attracta’s.
