The Development Office of Connacht Rugby are undertaking a comprehensive review of age-grade rugby in the province and as part of this review a number of surveys on player retention/drop-out have been created.

The main focus of the review is the loss/retention of players between the ages of 17 and 21 and these surveys aim to gather as much information as possible to help identify key themes in this transitional age bracket.

Once the information has been collated a number of focus groups will be set up with clubs, schools and interested parties across the province and at the end of the process the results will be presented to the Domestic and Branch Executive Committee’s for discussion and final implementation.

It is extremely important that these surveys reach as many individuals as possible so please feel free to forward this on to as many people as you think relevant, the more information we have the better informed the decisions we make can be. We are trying to reach as many stakeholders as possible and this includes players that have left the game for one reason or another, so if there is someone you know who is no longer involved please pass this on. We aim to have the information collected by Friday 1st March.

  1. Current Age Grade Players –
  2. Current Adult Players –
  3. Coaches –
  4. Players who have left the game –
  5. Club / School Officials –

Thanking you in advance for your co-operation and support.
