What’s happening?

After many months of planning, Connacht Rugby can now share details of our ticketing plan for our first two home games of the 2021/22 season, while also providing a long-term outlook for the remainder of the campaign.

How did this plan come about?

Deciding how tickets will be distributed has been an extremely complex process. It required many projections which were dependant on a range of factors; primarily our allowed capacity. Every scenario from 0% to 100% capacity was accounted for while we waited for guidance from the Government.

Another key objective for us was catering for our 1885 Club members who fall into different ‘categories’, such as:

  • Members who purchased a 2020/21 Season Ticket and;
    • then opted to defer it by 12 months.
    • opted to accept a Credit Note when offered to them.
    • generously donated a portion of their Season Ticket to the club in the Summer of 2020.
  • Members who had not yet purchased a 2020/21 Season Ticket before sales were cancelled.
  • Members with an indoor Season Ticket (i.e. the Enclosure).

So, how many supporters will be allowed attend games?

The Sportsground will operate at a capacity of 50% for the following fixtures:

Connacht v Vodacom Bulls: Friday 1st October @ 19:35 (United Rugby Championship)
Connacht v Dragons: Saturday 9th October @ 17:15 (United Rugby Championship)

These plans are dependant on there being no change or reversal to the most recently issued Government guidelines relating to outdoor sporting events.

I bought a 2020/21 Season Ticket and opted to defer it by 12 months. Will my ticket be honoured for these games?

Yes! You are guaranteed access to every home regular season game in the URC, as well as our Pool games in the Heineken Champions Cup.

All Season Ticket holders will be issued a Season eTicket via email before our first home URC game.

It’ll be good to have you back!

Will my Season Ticket be in the same location I purchased it in?

Those who purchased a Season Ticket in the Clan Stand, Main Stand or Grant Thornton Stand will still be located in that same area of the ground.

Due to restrictions on the use of indoor areas, those with Season Tickets in the Enclosure will be temporarily relocated to the Main Stand for these first two games.

I opted to become an 1885 Club member in lieu of credit in the 2019/20 Season but do not yet have a Season Ticket. What are my options?

A limited number of match tickets for the Bohermore and College Road ends of The Sportsground will be available exclusively to the 1885 Club members who do not have a Season Ticket, until our return to 100% capacity.

These tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis with links emailed to members in the lead-up to each game.

How can I purchase my tickets?

If you are an 1885 Club member without a Season Ticket, you will be emailed directly when URC match tickets become available.

There is limited availability, so you’ll need to act fast.

I am not an 1885 Club member. Will any tickets go on General Sale for the first two URC games?

Our first priority will be to cater for the 1885 Club. Only when all members have been accommodated for, would any tickets go on general sale, but these would be extremely limited.

Keep an eye on connachtrugby.ie and the Connacht Rugby social channels for updates ahead of each game.

Why is The Sportsground operating at 50% capacity?

2021/22 Season Ticket holders (i.e. those who purchased 20/21 season tickets and then deferred them until 21/22) are not bound by any vaccination terms or conditions and their tickets must be honoured.

Based on the levels of general public vaccination uptake we do believe that the vast majority of adult fans will in fact be vaccinated.

As an organisation we strongly encourage everyone to get their vaccine if they haven’t yet done so, which will help the smooth transition into the ending of restrictions next month.

Will further Season Tickets go on sale?

Yes. When we are closer to a return to full capacity we anticipate reopening Season Ticket sales, with 1885 Club members getting first access. These tickets will be sold at a discounted rate to make up for the home fixtures already held.

I still have some questions. Who can I contact?

We’d first ask you to email [email protected] with your name and order number and we’ll be back to you as quick as possible.

These plans are subject to no change or reversal on the Government guidelines issued last week relating to outdoor sporting events.

Yes! You are guaranteed access to every home regular season game in the URC, as well as our Pool games in the Heineken Champions Cup and Friday’s pre-season friendly with London Irish.

We can also confirm that tickets for the London Irish game will be FREE.

Really? Free match tickets?

Yes! Our ability to come through the COVID-19 pandemic was in large partly because of the unwavering support of the 1885 Club. We asked you to stick with us, and your response was better than we could have ever imagined.

As a THANK YOU, we will not charge a single cent for any ticket that we issue for London Irish.

How can I claim my tickets?

If you are an 1885 Club member without a Season Ticket, you will be emailed a link tomorrow to claim 2x free match tickets.

There is limited availability, so you’ll need to act fast. We want to create a party atmosphere at The Sportsground this Friday so it’s one you won’t want to miss!

  • Sportsground to operate at 50% capacity for pre-season friendly and first two home URC games
  • All previously purchased Season Tickets to be honoured
  • Remaining 1885 Club members to have exclusive access to Match Tickets until return to full capacity
  • Free tickets for 1885 Club to London Irish friendly (limited availability)

Connacht Rugby are delighted to confirm ticket details for our first three home games of the 2021/22 season.

We are very thankful to all our supporters for their patience during what has been a very complex process. A number of different scenarios have been projected over the past few months while we awaited clarity from the Government, and we thank them for providing that long-term outlook.

We can now confirm that The Sportsground will be operating at 50% capacity for the following games:

– Connacht v London Irish: Friday 10th September @ 17:30 (Pre-Season Friendly)
– Connacht v Vodacom Bulls: Friday 1st October @ 19:35 (United Rugby Championship)
– Connacht v Dragons: Saturday 9th October @ 17:15 (United Rugby Championship)

These plans are subject to no change or reversal on the Government guidelines issued last week relating to outdoor sporting events.

This capacity means the following for our 1885 Club members:

– All previously purchased Season Tickets for 2021/22 will be honoured. This guarantees access to every regular season fixture in the URC, our pool games in the Heineken Champions Cup, and Friday’s pre-season fixture with London Irish.

– For members who do not yet have Season Tickets, limited Match Tickets against the Bulls and Dragons will be exclusively available to purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.

– These members can also avail of a limited number of tickets to the London Irish game, again first-come first-served, with a link to be emailed tomorrow.

– As a THANK YOU for their unwavering support during the pandemic, these tickets will also be free of charge for 1885 Club members.

– Further details on the above will be emailed directly to the 1885 Club later today.

Connacht Rugby also greatly welcomes the planned return to full capacity from October 22nd. Whether any tickets go on General Sale before then will be dependent on uptake from 1885 Club members, and further updates will be issued on connachtrugby.ie and @ConnachtRugby social channels.

We also plan to reopen 2021/22 Season Ticket sales closer to our return to full capacity. These tickets will be sold at a reduced rate to compensate for missing the opening fixtures.

Finally, Connacht Rugby would like to thank everyone who has made the return of our supporters possible and we can’t wait to welcome you back, starting this Friday!

It’s matchweek at The Sportsground where Connacht host the Toyota Cheetahs in Round 4 of the 2018/19 Guinness PRO14.

The game promises to be an entertaining affair, with the Cheetahs looking to extend their lead at the top of Conference A and Connacht aiming for three wins on the bounce.

Here’s the latest ticket update for those thinking of coming along to the game:

  • The Enclosure is SOLD OUT.
  • Tickets for the Main Stand and Grant Thornton Seated Stand are almost gone, with very limited availability in both sections.
  • As always the Clan Stand is not on general sale, but is available to those who wish to purchase or upgrade a Gold Hospitality ticket. This includes food & drink in the Heineken Rugby Clubhouse, live music & entertainment, a complimentary match programme and more.
  • There is general availability in the Bohermore & College Road Ends.

With the interpros over for another few months, attention now turns to Europe where Connacht host Sale Sharks in a crucial Challenge Cup tie at The Sportsground this weekend.

Both teams have won 3 of their 4 pool games so far, so the game will go a long way to deciding who will emerge as pool winners and qualify for the quarter-finals.

As expected there is a huge level of interest in the game, with just a limited number of tickets available in certain areas of the ground.

A small number of tickets remain available in the Main Stand, while there is general availability in the Bohermore Road Terrace. The Clan Stand, Grant Thornton Stand, Enclosure and College Road Terrace are all not available, while hospitality tickets have also sold out.

Click HERE to book your place on the game or you can call reception on 091 561568.

Tickets are now available for two home games towards the latter stages of the 2018/19 Guinness PRO14.

On Saturday 16th February (k/o 5pm) we play host to the Cheetahs, and then two weeks later on Saturday 2nd March (k/o 2.45pm) the Ospreys pay a visit to the Sportsground.

Both Cheetahs and the Ospreys are in Conference A alongside Connacht, so the ties will go a long way to deciding the make-up of the final table. That means your support will be required more than ever.

Tickets are available HERE and for any queries please email [email protected]

There are now less than 50 Main Terrace tickets available for next month’s PRO14 clash against our neighbours and Interpro rivals Munster (Friday, October 27, 7.35pm).

Connacht will compete in pool 5 of next season’s European Challenge Cup alongside Brive, Worcester Warriors and Oyonnax after today’s draw in Switzerland.

Six tough encounters await Connacht as they renew acquaintances with Brive and Worcester and face Oyonnax for the first time.

The four previous meetings with Brive saw Connacht pick up one win while they have beaten Worcester Warriors twice at the Sportsground and lost on both visits to Sixways.

Brive finished eighth in the Top14 last season and were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the Challenge Cup while Oyonnax captured the Pro D2 title.

Worcester battled their way to an 11th place finish in the Premiership and were beaten twice by Brive in the pool stages of last year’s competition.

The five pool winners and three best-placed runners-up qualify for the quarter-finals.
