VACANCY: NUIG Rugby Development Officer
PURPOSE OF POSITION
 
The purpose of the NUIG Development Officer position is to deliver activities and programmes to increase participation and competitive success within NUI Galway male and female sections of the University club, with emphasis on the U20 /Fresher’s players. The post holder will encourage participation in rugby in the University at all levels consistent with the NUI Galway sports strategy. The post holder will have reporting responsibility to the NUI Galway Sports Officer and representatives of NUIG Rugby Club and Connacht Rugby.
 
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
 
Essential:
As highly motivated self- starter, the successful candidate will have;
 
A Stage 3 IRFU coaching qualification
Track record of coaching Rugby
Competence in Microsoft Office and relevant IT skills/social media.
Possess strong planning and organizational skills
An understanding of third level sport.
A full, clean driving licence and access to a car
Ability to work within a team
Possess good verbal and written communication.
 
Desirable
 
Relevant Stage 4 IRFU coaching qualification
University/3rd level degree/diploma.
Proven track record in sports development and delivery of programs.
