Connacht were in High Wycombe yesterday afternoon to take on Wasps in their second and final pre-season outing.
Pat Lam’s men finished 28 -10 down against a strong Wasps side. They were only 7-6 behind at the break after scrum half Ian Porter kicked two penalties either side of an Ashley Johnson try.
Wasps quickly pulled away in the second half after another try by Johnson followed by further scores from James Gaskell and Tom Varndell. Eoin McKeown and Danie Poolman both touched down for Connacht in the second half, the latter of which was converted by centre Shane O’Leary.
All 12 replacements were used in the warm-up fixture.
Connacht open the official 2014/15 season with their Guinness PRO12 round 1game against Newport Gwent Dragons at the Sportsground on Saturday September 6th (kick off 5pm).
