The very popular Welcoming Clubs Series is back next week with a seminar titled: Women in Rugby – Embrace the Future.

The event, hosted by John Oates from Pro Stream Training, seeks to provide help, information and guidance on the formation and expansion of Womens and Girls sections within rugby clubs.

Title: Women in Rugby – Embrace the Future

Venue: Corralea Court Hotel, Tuam

Date: Tuesday 19th November

Time: 19:00-21:00

The workshop aims to provide information to the clubs that are considering starting a “Women and Girls” section or that have recently started a section and need some further support. The information has been collected from a wide range of clubs and covers the areas of:

  • Why should your club consider running a women’s team?
  • The benefits it brings to the club as a whole
  • What needs to be done in preparation?
  • Creating the plan
  • Marketing the game to Women and Girls – how to influence the potential participants to join the club.
  • Recruitment channels
  • Support from the IRFU

We will also have case study presentations from two clubs that are already involved with Women’s Rugby. The clubs present will be able to ask the case study clubs about their experiences, what worked for them and also what didn’t work quite as well as was expected!
