This weekend sees the culmination of two youth cups with two finals in the Sportsground on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday Ballinasloe do battle with Buccaneers in the U17 cup final, before they go again at U13 level with Sligo on Sunday.

The U17 final is scheduled for a 1 .30 kick off, and both teams will be going all out for the trophy. Buccaneers caused one of the upsets of the cup so far with a win over Sligo, while Ballinasloe dispatched the giant killers of Castlebar who beat league winners Galwegians.

At noon on Sunday, Sligo and Ballinasloe will do battle in what will be the first chance for either team to have played at the home of Connacht rugby before.

Two big games are ahead of us this weekend, with the future of rugby in the province in rude health.
